Abstract
The rapid and sensitive recognition response of sensor platforms is of paramount importance. Nanomaterials have emerged as a key area of research on the design and fabrication of more sensitive and environmentally-friendly sensor platforms. Nanomaterials-based sensor platforms exhibit many superiorities including improved sensitivity, selectivity and robustness etc. This chapter presents and discusses the progresses in the development of green nanomaterials-based sensor platforms for analytical sensing. After the introduction part where the importance and superiorities of nanomaterials is briefly described, green synthesis approaches for nanomaterials are then explained. The chapter continues with recent applications of green nanomaterials-based sensor platforms. Finally, the chapter concludes by emphasizing the importance of these sensitive and selective platforms in analytical sensing processes as well as the critical issues that need to be carefully considered for the fabrication of greener and more sensitive sensor platforms.
