Abstract
3D and 4D printing technologies are becoming inseparable from research works and industries thanks to their incredible features like specificity, speed, accuracy, high efficiency, customizability, etc. One of the huge industries benefiting from these advantages properties is pharmaceutics. The high compatibility of the drugs with the printers (in terms of the high temperature of the devices) is one of the main reasons for using these technologies. Additionally, enabling the printing of various shapes has raised the curiosity to explore and expand the applications of 3D/4D printing in the pharmaceutical industry. This chapter aims to introduce recent and attractive applications of these technologies in the pharmaceutical industry. The cases were analyzed and explained in detail regarding the printing technology, conditions, machinery, application, and efficiency.
